Can ny one suggest me the cheapest plans for mobile nd home phone...i m too confused with bell/rogers/........
HI !
Regarding home phone VOIP is cheapest provided you have internet services .
If you have to go for a regular line than Bell / Rogers are pretty much same . About Rogers I have heard from different people that they had difficulty in getting calls from overseas for some unknown reasons .
Cell phone - It all depends upon your usage . Do not get lured with free cell phones offer and sign for longtime contracts . When it comes to service I found Telus as best but they do not have variety of fancy phones . You can initially opt for "pay as you go " plans or signup for min payment plans . Once you verify your total usage you can opt / negotiate for best package at that time . These packages keep on changing with time .
Hope it helps .. Shall you need any further or specific info , feel free to write

Are there advantages of a Rogers / Bell connection over VoIP ?
Which are the recommended VoIP services and can we use a long distance service on top of these ? Is the clarity and quality inderior to a Bell / Rogers fixed line ?

Fido.
I am using Primus for the last three years without any problem. Only once did they have problem with all their D-Link routers and that was resolved in about 5 days.

Im with Primus for home phone. i signed up for a yr for triple bundle package. The package includes 9 calling Features, unlimited calling to anywhere in us and canada, and dsl high speed internet service.
And for cell phone, Im with Koodos. Did not have to sign a contract, no monthrly service charge. i pay about $34 per month includes 100 minutes day time, unlimited incoming and free after 7pm and weekends.
Desiguy - your primus bundle is very good provided you pay low monthly charges ( which u have not mentioned ) ..
Cell phone - I have two plans from telus ( w/o contract )
1. 40 $ / mnth - includes 700 min , eve /wknd / incmng free , voicemail , caller id , call frwrdng inclusive .
2. 10 $ / mnth - includes 300 min , same faetures as above and if I want incoming to be free I have to pay extra 10 $ .
They do not offer these plans to everyone . You have to prove that this has been offered by a competitor and than they are willing to match it provided you switch over to them . They sre undergoing a tough competition since they are not offering I phone .. Hope you can negotiate well ..

If you can wait ...
The Government paved the way for new cellphone companies by announcing new rules for an auction of radio airwaves designed to spur competition in the wireless industry.
The auction process begun on May 27, 2008, and is expected to last till Aug End. New entrants could launch by late 2008
