Hi,
Here is a bulletin put out by the P.Eng. of Ontario.

engineering degree or a bachelor of applied science degree acceptable to PEO, and apply
online for the program at http://www.peo.on.ca/FCP/FCP1.html" rel="nofollow">LINK within six months of their landing in

Those who arrived in Canada between November 1, 2006 and April 30, 2007 will have until

By now you must have realized PEng is required to work in engineering field. Now, it is my observation people who moved to other province were able to get PEng earlier and easier than Ontario. I guess that is a smarter move, pack your bags and move to less populated province get your PEng and move where ever more money or whatever you are looking for in life is offered.
You can easily transfer PEng from any province to any other province.
Another piece of advise, do not get tempted to build your empire on Magna income, this will ruin your career and life. Live like a pauper till you get what you have come for to Canada.

I would advice to try in Calgury/Alberta.One of my civil engineer friend moved to Calgury a year and half back and he is doing really good.He couldn't get a break in his field when he was in GTA for 4 years.

Dear Friends pl. note the following as mentioned in the above reply may not apply to all the immigrants.

\"Those who arrived in Canada between November 1, 2006 and April 30, 2007 will have until
October 31, 2007 to apply, so as not to disqualify those who arrived in the six months
immediately prior to the launch of the program.\"

This scheme applies only to those who were confered the degree with in six months prior to their landing and that they may get only the financial benefit, nothing else.

I reproduce what I have found in the media release of PEO

\"Graduates of programs accredited by the CEAB are eligible for the FCP if they apply online at
http://www.peo.on.ca/FCP/FCP1.html" rel="nofollow">LINK within six months of the date their degree was conferred. (PLEASE READ THIS)
Within this six-month application window, PEO must also receive:
♦ acceptable academic documents;
♦ an acceptable proof of age document;
♦ acceptable documents proving their status in Canada;
♦ a valid email address for all PEO communications with them;
♦ and a signed declaration of application as per the online Engineering Intern Training
Financial Credit Program form.\"

Pl. correct if I am wrong.

They set out their qualifying requirements in their Bulletin.

Initially for Canadian and Foreign trained professionals. Then for those who were qualified with educational parameters, since you cannot practice here in Ontario and could not have, they say anyone 'with' five years of experience outside of this country.

Then they broaden the scope of their entry by providing a window of opportunity for those who were here in Canada six months prior to the formulation of their program and then for the newer arrivals, within six months of their arrival. They are now narrowing the time span available to the newer arrivals or levelling the playing fields.

Every thing said and considered equal, they still reserve their right to permit anyone from getting into their Association. Over and above all of this They still can limit and provide temporary or provisional licence as they find it suitable to THEIR jurisprudance. No one can question their judgment.

It is all there. They only provide limited entry and to a few.

I can only ask those who want to get their qualifications and experience assessed NOW, to get in touch with them. They are the people who you want to join and they are the one who is going to do the assessment.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck.

Freddie.
