Glad to know that there is interest. I am a travel (and sports) buff. We will continue the discussion.
On a sidenote, I am also interested for backpacking in India. Nothing like that. Manas Sarovar may be?

To continue on this thread :
My annual vacation is coming up soon and I will have 1 week free. Since I just have a week, I plan to see London and Paris alone. We have accomodation at London (with a relative).
Does any Desi know how to go about this. We want to spend the least money and Maximise our enjoyment. Any tips appriciated.
My plan is to fly to London and roam there through the Subway. Then take the cheapest ferry/ train to Paris and see the Eiffel tower / Lovre Pyramid and then head back to London and then fly to Canada.
Recently I got a return ticket to London for a friend of mine for around $600 (Travelocity).
Any website to look for cheap deals from London to Paris with one night stay in Paris?
Are there also any more countires in Europe in which we can literally travel around for free since we have the Canadian passport?
Does any Desi want to accomopany me (I will be travelling with 2 others , one of whom will be a child of 3 years)? My travel dates can be made flexible.

Peace out

TK,

A few years ago I visited London with my family. Every morning I'd buy a day pass for each of us. There was some deal for the family. The day pass allowed us unlimited travel for the day.

As regards sightseeing, I bought a 5-day London Pass ( http://londonpass.com/ ). That permitted us to visit attractions for 5 days. The 7-day pass had travel included too (for 7 days). I just checked quickly checked the website and they do offer a travel option with every single pass these days.

TK ,

For both London & Paris visiting on a budget keep the following things in mind .

1. Take an accomodation near a tube / subway as it will save time and luggage portability besides better commuting .

2. Browse the Internet and check things to visit at both the places and plan your sightseeeing accordingly distributing over the time .

3. Make advance bookings with the airlines ( forward and return ) and check out the no frills European airlines like Ryanair . Alternatively , theres an underwater train which runs b/w Paris & London . I would prefer a normal train journey though if time permits .

4. Take local daily sight seeing tour at least once in the begining so that you can analyze the place in the shortest possible time . Paris and I hope London too have both got hop on hop off tours .

Plan in advance - check virtualtourist.com and other websites - planning saves stress and last minute expenses which can be high in either cities .

Be careful with your pockets in Paris - I got picked w/o realizing - fortunately my wallet was in a hidden cloth purse strung around my neck close to my heart .

Thanks guys for the tips.
Last week, I bought a return ticket for a friend of mine using Travelocity for Just $580 (all inclusive). Now I can not find any airfare deal to London (in June end / Begining of July) for less than $999. However I shift the dates, I am not getting it for a lesser amount. This sets me back by $1100 for a group of 3 people.
Does any one know any good deals to London in the time I mentioned. I donot mind travelling to Buffalo and catching a flight, if that would help me. I am also prepared to travel on weekdays.

Peace out.

TK travel to Europe becomes expensive in summer. That is why you were able to get cheap tickets in May but not in June end.......
