Has anyone applied for a Police Clearance Certificate from the Indian Consulate in Toronto ?

Do you know if the original passport and PR card needs to be handed over to them for the 6 weeks or so that they do the PCC process ?

Hi, we don't live in Canada but have applied PCC via Indian consulate (Latin American country we are in). They did not ask for original passport neither for stay/work permits (in your case...PR). The procedure is simple and starts with filling a form and paying embassy fees, the clearance is sent to the police station of your home area in India and after receiving yes from them, embassy issues the certificate. I presume this'll be the same for all Indian consulates...be it Toronto or anywhere else.
