First time filer: time period to get refund?

I'm wondering how long it takes to get refunds for first time filers...

The CRA says all tax refunds should be processed by Jun 15.

For first time filers, there may be more work involved.

however, it's almost a month after that and I haven't seen anything on a refund. Is this normal, or should I get in touch with the CRA?

Depending on when you mailed your return, but as a general rule - give it a minimum of 2 months (for 1st time filers)

Thanks for the quick reply...with all my procrastination I filed my return on the last possible day (Apr 30?) so I guess I'll have to wait a bit.

I also filed on the last business day & I received my cheque day before yesterday.

Just as an FYI, the last date for filing taxes ie April 30th, is only if you owe the Govt. A lot of people are under the notion that even if you are getting a refund you have to file it by Apr 30th.
