Thanks Jigz for replying to Salim so nicely.
In 680 news there was a story of Police officers having a cut off of 25 speeding tickets a day and then they are free to go. There was a backlash as officers started ticketing people going at 67kph on a 60kph zone. Interestingly, the allegations surfaced in North Etobicoke, the area that i was ticketed. I hope and pray that the traffic ticket specialist uses this information to help throw out my ticket. Also due to the christmas season, the court cases will be moving very slowly. I expect that it may take atleast 3 months for me to get a court date.
To some, it looks like they enjoy while others get tickets. They should be aware that it may even happen to them. You just need a simple mistake to get a ticket. You may not get for speeding but you at always liable to get for passing the red light, making a right turn and hitting some one etc... Even many experienced drivers can make a mistake and get caught.

Did TK tried for or wanted this ticket?
Saying and preaching is easy. One only post such questions on 'Canadian Desi' to hear a possible solution or advice from other fellow members. There are so many types of tickets for driving in Canada that the best way for not getting them is, not to drive. I also add here that many of the lawyers who fight for your tickets are ex-cops and they display this information on their shop.

I am touching another topic but related one.
How are these paralegals (ex-cops) able to throw out the tickets?
Is it because they know that traffic cops issue tickets for issuing tickets and not really for catching a person at fault.....and so have no means to prove that the driver was at fault?
Or is it that inherently there is some loophole in the system?
Or is it that ..........like many other countries, they simply cut a share of the fees with the cop so that he does not visit the court?
Or worse...do they share the money with the judge/officer presiding so that he gives a verdict in favour of the paralegals.
In any case, is the whole thing different from India where if you are caught by a traffic police, you simply slip a currency note or two (depending on the going rate and type of offence and the urgency you are in) and then infact get the traffic cleared by the same police officer for you????????
Is Canada any different in corruption when compared to India/South Asia?

Except for the last statement.. sharing the money with judge.... which I cannot personally validate, all the others are true. It could be a combination of one or more of these in each case. This has been confirmed by a staff who worked with a paralegal (one of my ex-colleagues). He also mentioned that there are more chances of getting a speeding ticket's especially at the end of the month - all depends on their monthly quota.
Changes of winning also depend on:
1. Choosing a paralegal from the area where you got ticketed. These guys know the cops in their area. They've even gone to the extent of asking the cop not to show up in court, and
2. How you behave when the ticket was issued. If you are rude to the officer, he'll ensure that's he's present in court... come rain or snow.
Another thing I've observed, and I'm sure other may have too, these cops have favourite spots for 'parking themselves' and ticketing speeding vehicles. I know of atleast a couple.

SS, I agree with your observation.
I have been going for 3 years on Islington from Lakeshore to Steels and I have found that there are specific spots in which you can locate a cop. I always see that i am in the correct speed limit at that spot. I am not sure if it is a different cop at the same location at different times. New comers to that particular stretch of road are the ones who get ticketed for speeding (in my case, I was speeding in an area where cops donot wait to pounce upon a speeder but was rather caught by a cop coming in his car in the opposite direction)
As many would know by now, Everything can be bought in Canada with Money incl. the law / cops/ judges etc... and just like in India there will be a few exceptions (like the ACP sentenced to death in Delhi for killing 2 people while in custody).
I have heard that the builders (of houses) regularly give 24 cans of beer as bribe to the by-law enforcement officials and I also know that there are agents to submit building plan to the city for approval. These agents give a share of their money to the building plan registery desk.
So nothing is different in Canada from India except that in Canada it is a bit more regulated and a bit low key but the basic human trait of receiving favours for doing things is still there.
I hope some one gives the board points to prove that this is not true.

I would tend to think that these firms fighting traffic tickets would be doing on technical factors and legal loopholes (few examples are given on xcopper.com site). I personally do not think corruption is this rampant though it exists on a small scale.
