Hi,
I am planning to sponsor my parents from India under family class. The application kit specifies birth certificate as one of the required documents which I don't have. Was just wondering if there is any alternative to that like last page of my passport which mentions my parent's names.
Anybody having any exprience with this situation, please advise.
Thanks very much

I request somebody please advise or share his/her experience.

You did not mention if you lost/misplaced your birth certificate or never had one in the first place.
If your birth was registered, you can get a duplicate birth certificate by asking someone in India to contact the local municipal office. If a birth certificate was never made, you may have to get an affidavit made declaring the identity of your parents.
I din't have one, write that in the covering letter and attach pasport page photo copy.
Thanks very much for your replies.
Ranin, I was thinking of doing what you said. Was just wondering will CIC accept it? You said you did the same thing - did you get any acknowledgment from CIC that your application has been accepted?
