These days getting transfer credits from CGA, ON being a CPA is made difficult. CGA, ON needs CPA membership and a letter from CPA stating membership in good standing with official transcript. Membership and official transcript takes somewhere 1-2 yrs depending uopn the state one qualifies to get CPA membership. Still if I am not wrong one has to write 7-8 papers in CGA. Therefore, CPA is loosing its charm.

For CPA qlfn, CGA ontario allows credits only upto Level 4 and you still have to write PAC Exam(4 papers). I think if you are going to stick around in Canada, it might just be okay to do CGA, but if heading towards US, then definitely do CPA, as lots of co.s have operations both in US and Canada, so prefer dual professional qlfns.
