Hello:
I am on a work permit in Canada. Each month my employer deducts both CPP and Employment Insurance from my salary, even though I would not be entitled to these benefits later on in my life.
Is there any way in which I can ask my employer to stop deducting these amounts from my salary.
Thanks,
AB
Nope
You have to get them deducted if you are employed in canada , whether you are eligible for it or not

We will find a way or we will make one
To me it looks like this is an added tax for you enjoying health care benefits (though you also pay health tax) and for not waiting in the queue for Immigration ( and paying the fees / ROLF fees) and coming to Canada to start your life from scratch.. This may also be a tax for which you spouse is entitled to an "Open Work Permit"
May be if you pay into the CPP for 10 years or more and if you happen to be in one of the countries to which your pension plan is repartriable ( Currently India is not on that list) you can enjoy a pension amount from Canada during your retired life.
Just my thoughts !!!!
Note to the OP : Perhaps you can ask your employer to employ you as a consultant. In this case, you will get the gross salary without any deducation but you will have to file your own taxes, EI and CPP. The advantage of this is that you can write off some expenses and hence pay a lot less Tax, Ontario Health Tax , EI and CPP. However you will have to see if this system is allowed legally for work permit holders. It is allowed legally for PR holders and Citizens.

On a Sidenote : I have just heard news that CIBC bank is bringing a lot of South Indians (Esp. Tamils) in the field of IT on Contract and on Work permit to work in its projects for $10,000 a month !!!!. A similar immigrant in Canada is either unemployed or under volunteer work or gets a pay which may range from $2000 to $6000 a month. So i guess it is a sort of tax which tries to equalize the higher pay offered to Work permit holders. Please note that this news to true since it has been told to me by another software engineer working on Work permit in the same bank. The software engineer who gave me the news is working in CIBC being contracted out to CIBC by a software company in Canada which has brough him on work permit and pays him less than 45% than what the $10K guys get. The 10K guys have been recruited directly from India by CIBC
