I can't believe there are nutters like this out there! It makes me quite angry to read such "theories" because to me, it's like they are nonchalantly trivialising these acts of terrorism - these acts were very real and they did happen and thousands of people died for no reason.
Where is the SCIENCE in all their theories??? Are they blind?? I guess they were fortunate enough to have not lost anyone in these mindless attacks and therefore can afford to sit back and entertain such thoughts...wait till there is another attack (and lets face it folks, there will be another, and another and another) and they actually lose someone dear to them...perhaps then the ideas of "holograms" and "controlled demolitions" will dissapear from their minds.
I guess Condoleeza Rice herself is a hologram, heck maybe so is Bush and Blair.
As for Osama being left or right handed - even Sadam Hussein used doubles for his vids...that's no big secret OR conspiracy.

I watched the CBC's 9/11 program (not the one about conspiracy theories) for an hour and then ABC's "Path to 9/11" docu-drama - a two-part 5 hour (with no commercial breaks) mini-series, part 2 of which continues today.
Both the Clinton and Bush administrations were guilty of the missed opportunities that could have prevented the 9/11 attack, but to suggest that the whole thing was orchestrated by the government is stupid.
Osama Bin Laden was acknowledged the biggest threat to American interests and was America's most wanted terrorist well before 9/11. It is just that he has attained super-stardom after the 9/11 attack. One of Clinton's main regrets when he left Presidency was not being able to capture or kill Bin Laden during his tenure. It was no secret that Bin Laden wanted to cause mass destruction.
The program showed of so many missed opportunities between 1995 and 1999. Once when they were ready to attack, the administration bungled up, and didn't give a go-ahead on time. Then when they pinpointed his location and fired a missile, Al-qaeda knew about it before-hand because the US government had informed Pakistan, and Pakistan's ISI had promptly informed the Taliban! In Madeline Albright's words, they had to let Pakistan know, so that they (Pakistan) wouldn't mistake it as an attack from India, which could have triggerred an Indo-Pak war.
Then there were a couple of times when they knew Bin Laden's location, but the Clinton administration backed out, hesistant to cause collateral damage that could have destroyed a nearby mosque. There was also another instance when Bin Laden was enjoying falcon-hunting with the royals of the Emirates, and Clinton didn't want to antagonise the Emirates, and hence called off the attack.
Some interesting quotes in the ABC's drama:
- In the midst of the terror plots comes Clinton's address on TV - "I want the American people to listen to me carefully" (or something like that).. "I did not have sex with that woman (Monica Lewinsky)" !!!! And then when he did order missiles to be fired on Bin Laden's hideouts, the Republicans dismissed it as diversionary tactics from his sex scandals!
- After capturing Ramzi Youssef (the man behind the WTC bombing in 1993), an officer shows him the WTC buildings and says " They are still standing". Ramzi replies "They would not be if I had enough money". The 1993 attack was before Ramzi Youssef met Bin Laden for financing terror activities.
- The CIA sides with the Afghan's Mujahideen to attack Bin Laden in the 90's, but the attack is called off at the last minute. The Mujahideen's leader Massoud then asks "Are there any men in Washington, or are they all cowards?"
There is also the incident of the foiled terror plot to blow up New York's Times Square on New Year's eve Dec 31, 1999. Someone then says something like how many more times before the terrorists actually succeed.

So true. Republicans were so busy with the sex scandal, any other issues were pushed under the carpet. Fortunately there was no terrorist attack at that time. Otherwise Republicans would have dismissed that again as a diversion tactic.
Just before the United flight took off (that crashed in Pennsylvania), it seems the pilots got a message of probable cockpit intrusion. Rest is history.
