So the work did get done, and not too late. It looks as though the confusion was due to the fact that I put down a furniture move in date, but expected to move into the apt earlier. I suppose the normal assumption would be that you move in the day the furniture is moved as well....which was not true in my case.
The super seems like a polite guy otherwise. The building is pretty well maintained btw, and the apt is nice as well. So I don't think this is one of those slum buildings by any means - I did look at a few other apts before deciding on this one.
It looks like I have to fix appointments to get any small thing done; can't just call up and get something. Having lived in a smaller apt building in the States (in a smaller city) things seemed to be a lot more flexible. Perhaps this is the way things are done in Toronto? But things are still okay overall....nice neighbourhood.
I could use some of that weed myself though!! In the meantime, beer will have to do.

Dont have a bus stop anywhere close by? Home delivery is apparently another option. Some of our folks seem to know all the details.

Cause based on what some people would have you think, NOTHING ever gets done here, brotha! Don't complain about nuthin' yo, just blame the system. Its the evil building managment companies, they be ruinin' our lives. And they can't fix nuthin' cause most of their employees be makin' money on the side sellin' weed at every busstop. Ask your super for some weed and watch him whip it up from every pocket of his cargo. Did you know that in Canada, all rental buildings have one apartment that's never rented out? Guess what it's stocked with! And oh yeah, just dial *WEED on your cell if you're ever stuck in traffic. In Canada, a cop car will pull over on the shoulder next to you, lights flashing and all, deliver the weed and all you gots to do is be slippin' a 20 to the cop. And oh yeah, make sure you get his number, cause in Canada if someone look at you funny, the cop whack him for you for another 100.
