I had applied in June 2000 in the independent skilled worker category from the New Delhi CHC in India. In 2003 I got married and added my wife in the application. Now she is expecting and the child is due in May 2004. I have recently received an interview waiver letter and am expecting medicals soon.
My queries are:
1) Am I still in the skill independent category or in the family class category?
2) Medicals - Does the new born require medicals to be done?
Can my spouse and I get our medicals done before we receive the papers from CHC...this is because I believe medicals would be harmful for the child from the 7th month onwards and the medicals may come from CHC at that time itself. And I would like to save time and not postpone the medicals.
Since you have not got your landing papers, you would be considered in Skilled Category only. You need to send birth certificate, copy of passport, photographs, visa processing fees of the new born (once the baby is born) . On receipt of these papers, CHC would issue medical papers for the new born. You cannot send any info about the newborn in advance.

You cannot do medicals before you receive the Medical Notification.
