Today I received a letter from CIC seeking some more documentation from me and asking me to get my mdeical done. They are asking for 5 more documents:
1) Letter of employment from current employer
do i need to send this? what if I don;t want to tell my employer that I am filing for Canadian PR. anyone with any relevant experience?
2) Current statement of funds from banks.
Can i send them the copies of my statements from banks or is it some speacial kind of letter that I need from the banks?
3) Letter of no record or good conduct from Police in India for self and spouse.
Is there a standard format that I need to use? I stayed in multiple places in India in the last 6 years of my stay in India. Do I need a certifcate from each state or just where my permanent residence was?
4)FBI finger print again for my spouse only.
We sent them the FBI record clearances for both at the time of filing the application. Not sure why they are asking for this again for my spouse. Can i call them somewhere and ask why they need it again. They need all this in 90 days and what if FBI delays the whole thing?
5) Medical records.
I don;t see any document which says Interview or interview waiver. Does this mean they are yet to decide if I will require an interview or not? I have filed under skilled worker category. Can anyone enlghten me please.
Do i need to order CAIPS notes at this stage?
I am an Indian Citizen, currently based in US. Filed my application under skilled worker category in October 2003. It was received by them on 21st Oct, 2003.
Hi Planb,
Congrats on getting the initial assessment. Now regarding your questions:
1. If you cant get a letter from your current employer you will have to write a letter explaining why you cant get it. Support this explanation letter with paystubs, tax returns filed etc. They just want to know what you have been doing since you applied for immigration.
2. A statement of your account with the current balance on the letterhead of the bank should be fine. Just go to your bank and ask for a statement of your account.
3. Indian PCC can be obtained from :
A) The passport office that issued your passport in India.
B) Indian embassy in USA. Can take upto 45 days. For New York check the link :

4. FBI clearance is valid for 6 months only. Every applicant has to provide FBI clearance again after initial assessment. If for some reason you can not get the clearance certificate from FBI in 90 days send a fax to Buffalo explaining why there is a delay - they will understand.
5. Get medical done as soon as possible if you have not been called for an interview.
If CIC has not told you in the initial assessment that you require an interview it has most probably been waived. But sometimes they can decide to call you for an interview at a later date. So keep your fingers crossed and hope that they dont call you for an interview.

What can be imagined, can be achieved.
I have got exactly the same set of questions with the Interview Waiver and to furnish the documents by 90 days and medicals by 60 days..Its the usual process, You are quite fortunate that they didnt ask for your fingerprints, In my case they asked for my spouse+me .
Lets get the paperwork started !!oh Boy!!
