Do you see a RIP-OFF in this ad? I do. First this guy sits in Brampton, and wants to charge in US $. then he wants to charge on his services. There is a legal requirement to be met including registration with CCRA before you can charge PST.

I am sure this is the height of greed! Perhaps this guy should read his kundli first!

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

Where in the ad. do you read that he's charging PST. All it says "+tax". It could mean only GST.

As regards charging in USD while in Canada, don't know if that's legal or otherwise. Have a look on ebay.ca. Tons of ads for items located within Toronto, and they quote in USD.

quisqualis - You should change your title "Is it legal to charge tax". The title is misleading. Short answer for that would be - Yes, it is legal to charge tax. Even in this case, since he's selling a service & G.S.T. (Goods & Services Tax) is applicable
