   ...Hello friends, I am moving to Edmonton by 20th of this month. Really wanted to settle down in Vancouver but I guess, Edmonton needs me more.    ...In terms of weather, Calgary is much better than Edmonton. Also Calgary NW has the best IB public school(Sir Winston Churchill High School) in Alberta. Cost of living/Housing is lower in Edmonton than Calgary. In Calgary, detached houses cost anywhere from $450K onwards. But if your job is in Ft McMurray, I think it would be better to live in Edmonton since it would be nearer.

   ...Recently I travelled to Vancouver from Fort Mcmurray . Total one way journey was 1600 km . I started from fort mcmurray and stayed one night in edmonton . And next day early in morning I started from edmonton and reached Vancouver by late evening , I was the only driver . There may be different route from calgary but I suggest to drive through edmonton - edson - hinton-jasper-kamloops-vancouver and in return you can go through vancouver-kamloops- calgary.
