Tax question about ON-BEN benefits

Thanks sudesingh and Full House.

I checked with Ontario government also and they said that she cannot claim it as she is not paying any rent and rent receipt is not in her name.

I tried to tell you that in my 1st post...but I guess you preferred to hear it from the authorities.

As FH said, it's not worth taking the risk.

Sudershan ji,

Just saw this thread. I have one question here.

If the OP gets the lease and rent receipt in his/her mother's name then may be the mother would get ON BEN but I feel that in that case, the OP would not be able to claim Caregiver on line 315 for mother as technically then the OP is not maintaining the dwelling. Please shed some light.
