If possible , please try to additionally & later alternatively reserve for Sept end / Oct start even if in the waiting - as is you have Oct 13th confirmed ..If you get Sept end , you can go ahead and transfer your tickets on this one or cancel Oct and go on Sept end ..
I have not been there either and planning to visit this year ..Any feedback from people who have been there would be appreciated ... The drive to Sault Ste Marie is 9 hours which is a daunting task ... Some one discouraged me yesterday !!

What are the discouraging factors?, is it for driving?
Any clues on which route to be taken?
Map quest is also guiding us via US I 75 N ROUTE

There were 2 - one was that it was a long long drive ... to and fro ..
And the second was that on the train with the trees surrounding , one may not always see the best of scenes as opposed to while trekking or other wise ...
Though I must say the latter point is not very discouraging as I am hopeful that it should be a scenic ride but the first one is what I am thinking about !!!

Hi Fido, and other CD friends,
Thought of updating the ground reality of colors at sault ste marie.
The drive to and from TO - SAULT STE MARIE , was excellent, with superb color pockets enroute, however there was snow at the Agwa canyon park, where we took the train journey.Train journey was very scenic, and good , but only one way, the return journey , although the same route, was kind of dragging.
Overall We enjoyed our 3 day trip with my daughter and son in law, who was really excited to see snow at Sault ste marie.
But any CD friends, planning for fall col trip at AGWA CANYON, in future, essentially has to plan it for mid to end september, as I presume , the colors should be indeed excellent view for the vast strech of forest enroute the train journey.

I m very glad that you and your family enjoyed the trip . I cancelled it for myself though but will definitely make it for one of the following years ...
Could you recommend which side seats get more views while going - right or left as I have heard that the more views can be seen on one side .

Hi Fido,
The seats on the train have very wide windows, and you can actually have very good views of both sides, frankly speaking , I did not notice the different in which of the left or right sides has more sceninc views.
Moreover the seats revolve 180 degrees around its own axis, hence you can actually position it the way you feel it is better.
No veggie food options on train, so pls carry your own food (if you are strictly veggie).
