Pls make your short story bit longer to get some traction on answer stream which flows in this forum.

what is your fear ? cic is suppose to ask for the docs for PR approvals, that is what is being done !

- when did you land first ? how many total days as of today have you stayed in Canada ?
- what exactly is your 'overstay' period ? will you not qualify for the PR extension ?

Beating around the bushes will not help in getting answers , I think you should mention clearly in case you are staying with expired PR.

hi i am not beating behind the bush.. following are the details:
1. got pr in 2006.
2. went back home and came back to Canada in august 2010.
3. couldn't come back due to several family issues
4. applied for my husbands sponsor clearly wrote every detail to cic about my stay outside Canada they accepted and approved the sponsor application.
5. now i will be fulfilling 730 days in Aug.2012
6. but they asked me to come for interview and they will decide to renew it or not.
7. i am only 90 days short. well established in Canada do have job, bought a house.
so can you please advice now

In case you landed in 2006 then your PR must have been already expired last year or did you mean you got PR in 2006 but landed in may 2007 and will be short of 90 days in May 2012 which will be completed by Aug and then you planned to apply ? phew too much of guess work here.

Clearly you are yet to apply for the extension of your PR and while processing application for your husband the officer discovered this fact and would like to verify through documents with you. There might be case that they do not have complete record of your stay in Canada. From facts you posted here, CIC is definitely acting in your favor till now, onus is on you to prove your time in Canada, I will recommend you to collect as many docs you have to show your arrivals and stay ; here are few suggestions
- COPR - as must doc
- bank opening statement in case done in 2006/7
- 2006/7 arrival departure stamps on passport as well as tickets if possible.
- 2010 arrival record
- first bank , credit card transactions made in aug 2010. take out bank statements from that period
- lease signed if any in case you did not take shelter with relatives.
- Job letter , showing date of joining.
- bank statements showing regular salary earned, mortgage and other obligations in Canada showing strong ties.
- countries visited during absence from canada
- tax records from 2006/7 onwards. ideally you should have filed tax return for all the years.
To strengthen the case , if there is any proof that you were taking care of personal matter back home during absence period.

Also remember that cic is monitoring the spousal sponsorship more closely than ever.
all cic wants to see is genuineness of case , 90 days grace period is on discretion of the officer who can make an exception if convinced by your explanation. At the most he will delay the spousal visa post extension of your PR.

all the best. (btw I was not convinced the way you documented the facts in your both posts missing primary info leaving it on guess work, pls do good job with CIC, they get disturbed easily - pls consider this as friendly advice)
