Thanks,

You said it right, pre-schools is certainly a priority for us right now, as my daughter might start pre-school pretty soon after we get there. Do you have any info on which pre-schools are considered good ? If we end up staying in NW or SW and my daughter goes to the pre-school there, would she possibly have some other Indian kids in her class ??
Can we look forward to a good social life within the Indian community there ?? or it difficult to meet other desis, and socialize there ??? You responses are very helpful in mitigating our concerns before moving to a completely foreign land, so thankyou for them.

I live in SW & my Daygter goes to Apple tree pre school which i would say is good.Very few indian families on my side of area(Oakridge)..Most indian population is concentrated in NE.where for sure U will find lots of desi's & probably get some indian kids in schools also...Pl. do a google search on preschools & based on school U get search for a appartment near by as Ur wife needs to drop her off..thats what i did...
Social life is not gr8 .people tend to look busy ..u may able to get some aquaintainces at work as in IT U probably come across some indians..dont worry about things U will be fine...

Thankyou for the information Itguy.
Is there a reason why NE is not considered good, even though desis live there ? Also since you live in SW, could you name any areas or maybe specific complexes, which I can /should target ?
Thankyou for the priceless information you are providing.

It comes down to personnel preference ..I didnt choose NE as SW is close to downtown where I work & My preference was good preschool to my daughter.U can choose any area based on Priority U have ..Probably U will get cheaper basement at NE as lots of desi's rent out.
Close to Heritage station in SW has Boardwalk building appartments. Follwing is the site where U can get to know the available appartment location wise.
again SW & NW are big areas Probably think of less commuting time, good preschool, Grocery shops ,parks etc based on your priority & then decide...
Google & U will more sites for rentals

RentFaster.ca - Kijiji, bwalk,rentcalgary etc.....
