Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how is Milton to live as well as commute to Downtown? Are there good elementary schools, proximity to Square one and Heartland shopping centres? Are there good parks and recreation centres?
Also, how's the GO Transit from Milton to Downtown Toronto?
As for the housing, can I get a semi-detached (3 level with finished basement) near the Go station within $350,000? What are the good neighborhoods and the areas to avoid?
I would like to know from someone who actually lives in Milton, so as to get a better idea.
Thanks in advance.
I have been living in Milton sine 2010. I have no regrets. There is lot of young families, good schools. Many good parks are walking distance from wherever you plan to live.Milton Go to Union is 55 mins, the good thing is you will always get a seat since the Milton line starts from here!. Heartland is 20 mins from Milton. No need to go to square one etc.
You will not get semi for 350k, maybe 400k. Real estate is booming, I do not see any house in the market max more than 2 weeks. Car Insurance will be relatively cheaper.
There are no areas to avoid as of yet, all are equal

A friend of mine moved to milton from Mississauga in Jan and is moving out after less than a year. I have not lived in Milton so here is her feedback:
1) She sends her child to escarapement view public school and is not impressed.
2) She now calls it Multan because of a lot of people from a certain country living there
3) There are no highways in the city (407 is just outside its border) and the only major road in the city is derry which is a joke with so many traffic lights.
4) IF you are not taking go then 401 is a complete parking lot through milton because of reason 3 above.
5) Very few good desi restaurants (i think one or two authentic)
Advantages
Most of the stores are there so you wont have to leave the city
House prices are cheap thats why they sold their semi and bought a single there
They are moving back to miss looking to move into a semi/town

No trees were killed by this post, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
