For A+ you should not (donot need to) attend a college.

Just buy a book (you can also borrow from the library) read it.
Practice the questions. Take the test (test is only multiple choice).

and you are A+ certified.

But be carefull - there are not too many jobs for A+ in Canada.

As the hardware is inexpensive in Canada and it companies (people as well) keep on upgrading by buying new models. Companies produce in bulk and because of competition the price is very low. People install the harware themselves and companies provide the telephone support. So, there are very limited opportunies in hardware.

The option remains is to either go in software (design & coding) or in WebSites (design and maintenance). As these things are not produced in factories but done by the humans. Also these are not one time purchases but an ongoing activities.

The catch is most of this work is outsourced to low cost countries, but still there are jobs in these fields. You can track the job postings etc and then decide where you can fit yourself.

I also request other fellow CDs to provide their inputs and suggest some good courses and special ares for an new (prospective) entrant in IT field. They should include some info about the money and time requirements also.

Enjoy Happiness.
