Hi , Please help me out here..

I am almost ready with my sponsorship application of my wife who lives in Atlanta and working on H1B visa. I am working and living in Toronto. We are from India. We met for the first time in October 2007 through internet and did civil marriage in April 2008.

By reading all your post I realize that its very important to give proof of relationship. I have following stuff as a proof.

- Photos of trips with spouse
- Proof of ongoing correspondence between you and your spouse (letters, emails, instant message logs, etc)
- Phone bills showing long distance calls to each other
- Marriage certificate

However my question is we did not have any formal ceremoney as her whole family is back in India so we are planning to have formal ceremony back in India in early 2009.

Therefore, I do not have any formal ceremony/reception pictures taken and enclosed as a proof. However we have plenty of pictures with our six trips together in past six months.

Can it create any problem in our application? what kind of problems could it create?
And what could be the remedy for that? I am done with all my paperwork..

I am just waiting for your reply... please help me out..

Thanks in the anticipation
PKD

Congratulations to you both.

These are some of the items that might come in handy:

It is nice to have the pictures of the location (Place) where you both got married. The pictures with Judge or the Notary that presided. Pictures with The best man and maid of honor, at the location where you both got married etc.,
Any invitations that were printed or circulated? Any congratulatory messages? Any felicitations from the elders? Flower arrangements and the Payments, if any?

Some certificates only have a local validity. Does yours have one beyond the borders? Please verify the same for yourselves.

Dates and times of your border crossings or the Airline tickets that you can produce the copies of.

Since she is entering Canada to be with you here, any possibilities of an arranged employment for her here, by you? That will surely speed things for her.

Any Hotel bills as Mr & Mrs honeymooners?, out of the last six encounters?

Has she applied for a Name Change in her Passport, Driver's license, or any other ID's?

Can you provide them with the details of the ensuing formal ceremony and the efforts you have made in the current arrangements for the ceremony with correspondence, venue and printed materials, etc.,

All of the above will have a bearing on your application. See if you do have some or all of these materials. Also arrange them in the chronological order.

Submit your sponsorship application. Good Luck.

Freddie.

CONG.

we were in the same boat ....... No pic , nothing, just emails but no one asked for anything.. No proof or so .. as she moved with me to states. we just sent marriage certificate and thats it. they didnt ask for anything else.

it took them 14 months in all ( Buffalo) to complete all the processing.

Thanks guys..

Just a one quick question. How come it took 14 months in total from Buffalo visa office? All I heard was the timeline of 3 to 6 months..

I have heard of cases where the police clearances have taken over an year. Health checks sometimes drags things too. If every thing gels, then might fit in the time frame you mentioned.

Good Luck.

Freddie.
