Hi Group

My mother is coming to Toronto on Apr 10th on a visit visa. Her original visit visa expires in May 2007. Does this mean that I have to apply for her visa extension as soon as she lands in April. My understanding is that one is allowed to saty for 6 months after they land in Canada irrespective of when the original visit visa expires. Is my understanding correct. pls let me know.

Yes your understanding is correct provided the immigration officer at airport mentioned that on her landing.
