Hi,
I have one question regarding the visit visa's. Appreciate help from fellow Canadian Desi's.
My father came here last year in the month of July-2008 on a 2 yr multiple entry visit visa. After spending about 5 months with us he went back to India in the month of Dec 2008. Now we are planning to bring him back in the month of May for another term of 6 months. His visit visa expires in June 2010.
Can my father come back and visit us starting May 2009. I have been informed by some friends that In a span of 1 yr (starting July 2008- June 2009) , if you stay for more than 6 months, then you are liable to pay taxes within Canada. Please let me know whether this is a mandatory requirement. can we invite my father back in May-2009 or should we wait until end of June-2009.

I don't think they ask for any taxes yet. Also our year end is on the 31st of December of each year.
But it sure will help, if your friend can give us the source of such information. If you can find it, I will send it to all the Mother in laws. Fathers and Father in laws can come any time. How is that?
