Friends,
After looking at bulk of replies in the "Networking" charcha section, and also after looking at people posting their email-id's and phone numbers in a public forum, I though to do something about it.
Here is what I came up with - a Networking Section
Here are some of the purposes:
1. Have a common place where you will see all members of the network group listed
2. Communicate with all the members easily (Right now there is send-email to all group members, later on I am planning to have send-pm to all group members. However this email does not work the same way as yahoogroup email works - one has to use the site form to send an email to all group members)
3. Arrange and record meetings for a group (Not done yet)
4. Share photos for the group (Not done yet)
5. Discuss Public Issues related with group
Here are some of the features of current implementation.
1. Currently only admin can create network. I have chosen few discussions with most replies and created some networks. Later on, I will give an option to anyone who participated in the discussion (and having responses from more than 5 members) to request a network creation
2. The first person who started the discussion is "Owner" of the network
3. All the members who responded to the discussion are network members
4. If someone would like to remove oneself from a particular network, he/she has to visit the network and follow a link to remove
5. Any CD member can join networks
6. Network Owner (and Moderators) can approve/remove members
7. Network Owner (and Moderators) can make any member a moderator (as well remove from the moderator list)
8. Only Members can see the phone numbers and can send email to entire group or individual members
9. One can choose to hide/display phone number to be displayed from others members
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks.

I am seeing a great response as there are many people who visited network pages. There are many "membership requests" pending right now. Thanks for the positive response.
The thread starter automatically becomes owner of the network group. We might have cases where the thread starter might not be active right now. In such cases I have to make someone Owner and also add few moderators. If you guys would like to volunteer to do so, please send me PM or reply here or reply into a particular network discussion.
I also added a feature to see the emails sent to entire group online. There is a link on the network page.
If you have any other suggestions, don't be afraid - just let me know and if feasible I can incorporate your ideas.
Thanks.

I made some enhancements to the network pages and related discussion pages.
1. Now on the discussion forum page you will notice a network listed with hyperlink along with a thread, if network exists for that particular thread. eg http://www.canadiandesi.com/board.php?FID=63" target="_blank">http://www.canadiandesi.com/board.php?FID=63
2. On the discussion read page, on the top you will see a network listed with hyperlink if there is a network exists for the thread. eg http://www.canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=14667" target="_blank">http://www.canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=14667
3. For any thread getting responses from 5 or more users, now the thread starter can create network himself/herself. There will be a hyperlink on the discussion read page
4. Network Owners and Moderators can update network information with the Update Link on the network page
If you have any questions, please do let me know.
Also if you are network owner, please approve pending members. If you do not want to take responsibility as a network owner, please do let me know and I can assign someone else.
I was also planning to develop a page where network members can arrange a meeting and others can respond to the meeting (attending/not-attending etc). What do you think guys? Would that be helpful?
Your appreciations and comments helps us make this site better. Let them flow..
Thanks.
