OK...no gimmic.

If all the real estate agents on this forum were given CAD 300000 to buy a property in Canada...who would buy where.

Just an acedemic question to know the insights of the professionals

Ooh ! I'm sure you'r gonna get atleast one response for each cross street in GTA, may be beyond, may be more.

I'd go for somewhere either east of 9thline Mississauga or North of Queens St. Brampton. But it's just me ;)

Hi,
I am not a realtor but my preference would be :
Kleinburg or Maple (this is in Vaughan , just north of Toronto). very good areas. Rich people dominated (Mostly Italians). Not possible to live w/o car here.
More conservative area would be North of Square1 (Eglington and highway 10) or Mavis and Dundas.
Another idea is to buy an old house in downtown (200K to 250K) and then do this :
Basement rent : $800
ground floor rent : $1000
Second floor (3 bachelors room with one kitchen/toilet) each $300= $900
loft : 2 rooms @ $300 each = $600.
Total income : $3300 (assume $2000- $2500 income each month based on non occupancy time.)
This is what one Punjabi that i know does in Weston/St. Clair. He has another house like this in Keele+Dundas street (his house is worth only $165K).
My views only
TK

Im not a realtor but I would invest in BC - house prices are going up very quickly (land values) but 300,000 would not buy you anything in Vancouver.
