German company has implemented a strict, no-whining policy, using a two-moans-and-you're out rule. Two workers have since been fired for whining and two others have quit.

company I use to work for was always screwing up my pay checks. One would be over by a hundred, the next under by a hundred. One week my pay check was over $5,000 and I pointed this out to my supervisor to correct. The next day I was fired.

take them to court. you have the right to speech. you are by right to moan as much as you want. its not nazi germany

Well this happened to my friend. He took leave one day for headache the next day he was fired for no apparent reason. He was told that he was removed for reasons which cannot be explained. His boss is paranoid. He was asking my friend's colleagues if he attended an interview the day he took leave. Are there any laws here in Canada for suing the company or boss for removing from the job for strange reasons ? His boss happens to be an Indian. My friend is highly experienced and his job was offered to a fresher who was from the same community as the boss. The boss who fired comes at the end of the day to console my friend. :(

The narration of Jhanvi is in continuation to what\"Tamil Kuravan\" had expressed in his recent write up.

I'm writing this letter with blood in my eyes(not tears) in the literary sense.I have nothing to lose as I have 287 days to file for my Citizenship and I'll run away from this place. But still I would like place certain facts to my fellow CD's and would be immigrants. I know atleast 4 of my friends who know my true identity who would read this response, shaking their heads in confirmation and despair.

I have come across atleast 4 \"Indian\" owned businesses in Ontario, which are flourishing, by abusing their employees. The reason is that there is so much of new immigrants who want a job at any cost, the employers can do anything they want. The second point is that most of the new immigrants are not aware of their rights. They feel afraid to protest or ask for their rights.

I know a flourishing(Money literally pours from the roof) restaurant here, where the tips are taken away by the owner. The main source of income of the restaurant waiters is from tips. Now a days there are plenty of students who are working there illegally who are paid $6.50 per hour irrespective of the hours(More than 88 hours in two weeks you need to pay 1.5 times of the wages).

Secondly I know a Indian owned business in mississauga, which pays C$9 for an Indian Software proffessional. The last one who was working at C$12 after 3 years quit recently. They do not pay any over time, do not pay any medical benefits and want the people to work for longer hours on fixed pay. They were advertising in Mississauga News, new people used to come and join them and in a typical Canadian way after 3 months when they expect a confirmation letter with an increase in pay, they would be handed down a list with reasons why they do not deserve a hike. The persons used to quit the same day or after finding a job. They have run through 150 people in the last 18 months. There is no adequate heating in the warehouse, where Indians slog with out complaining. There is no adequate ventilation and hence any dangerous fumes would harm them. Nobody complains and works at $9 and $10 in the same condition. Once a white person who came quit the job in 3 hours and informed the labour board about the condition. This was followed by a visit by the Safety guy from the Ontario board. Many people thought that something would come out. Nobody knew what transpired between the safety guy and the owners. The guy left quietly and the report which was written by him and posted by him on the Safety Notice Board said everything was okay.

As they found that many people were coming and leaving very shortly, they have deviced a new plan. Catch new immigrants right off the airport. They are now a days working hand in hand with a famous Immigration Consultancy, which provides a list of resumes of recently landed people. These people are hired at C$8, and told that they are being done a favour by being employed. They are made to work long hours without any over time, and with abusive language(typical Fisherfolk Indian style). I learnt that many ladies with a family to support are working in this inhuman condition while crying in the rest room. As they do not know their rights they are being abused.

If it was India, you could go either to the workers union, who would take out your case, if not you could contact the local DADA, who would take out the hand or the leg.

Where & whom would you go to in Canada. The employer can be very abusive, if you lift a hand he would bring the police and have you booked. It would go against you in your record while going for your Citizenship/ or other job application.


Hence this abuse is happening knowingly by highly educated people who know how to abuse the system here. The situation is getting worser with more immigration happening with people willing to do anything for a job.

And recently Ontario has announced of reducing the children age for working to 14. Other countries are working to remove Child Labour, while Canada in its own smooth way makes it into the system. Myself or many of us newer worked at this age, we were having fun in the cricket ground or in the movie theater. We did not have any mental burden and enjoyed life. Our children would also be doing the same in India if they were there. If they continue in Canada and the way the salaries are dropping, you would need your children also to work to support the family.

Please place one of your hands on your heart, and tell me that\"you said I'm immigrating to Canada for a better life for my children, even if I suffered ?\".Where is this all leading to?.

I was thinking that probation period is for people who are new to the job or fresh out of college. The company had put this highly experienced friend of mine in the probation period (3 months). Is this also common in North America :(

This concept of 480(like 420 in India) for three months or 160 Hrs per month times 3 months is a practise North of America !
