Did your parents send the passports yet? I would suggest checking the e-client thingie regularly.

My parents status showed as "Medicals received" for a while. Then about 10 days back, that changed to "Decision made". And they received their passports back this Monday.

Hi Bluelobster,

thanks for your suggestion but I keep checking e-client status, twice a day and it still shows, "In Processs".

My parents have not yet recd any info from CHC N Delhi to submit their passport for visa stamping. So I don't know what to do.

Hopefully everything will work out in couple of months.

Thanks again

Something happened around April time (www.sponseryourparents.org?) and Delhi has cleared a huge backlog recently.

two things primarily... first was the huge increase in the quota...

the second (sadly enough) was the tsunami...

from http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/new-delhi/servstan-en.asp

On 18 April 2005, the Minister announced a large increase in our visa-issuance targets for the parents and grandparents category. The Visa Office in New Delhi is currently working on a strategy to meet the new targets while continuing to deal with the various other priorities we have on hand.

After a preliminary review of our existing inventory, we estimate being able to finalize in 2005 those cases whose applications were received prior to the end of March 2003. This is an approximate date, therefore, as our plans gel and we determine to what extent the cases involve complications, the date may change slightly. Those cases where applications were received after March 2003 will be processed within the context of the targets allotted to us for 2006 and subsequent years.

I think that was brought about by two things

1) Action by sponsors (as in the http://www.sponsoryourparents.com" rel="nofollow">LINK website).
2) The close elections for the liberal govt.

I can't imagine there was no political motive behind raising the quotas all of a sudden.
