While in India, I suggest you to learn Networking - not of Cisco, Novell etc... I mean people networking which wud fetch u job, and also other soft skills regarding communication. These attribute to entry into industry, and when once you are IN, then observe what kind of things make more sense to u, and accordingly, u may like to study whatever, here.

Count me in too. over 6 yrs in IT. Mainly worked in Oracle,VB,JAVA currently working on SQL & .NET...
Got a job in IT when I landed. I gave my interview in the first week of landing ..i didnt have a clue to where the location was actaully..got hold of many maps and reached at the location. after 4 rounds of interviewing ( 3 weeks) i got the job.
Well I beleive that getting a job in IT here may not be that difficult than in other fields.
Getting hold of good recruiters is very miportant.
I 'm already being called for several interviews now..
