I think this may be true for in general but there are few areas where specialization is required and "knowledge of everything...." does not work.

I thinkthe days of IT folks getting jobs just on the basis of their technical skills is over. There are diverse set of skills that are now required by IT people to add value to an organization. Coders are everywhere. The positive side of this is that IT folks are analytical and can make sense of just about anything. So regardless of what the work is, IT people are good at it. I know a lot of my friends who hire for approach, attitude, talent, communication, and problem solving skills. The technical skills can be learnt if you have someone who is talented. I have also followed this approach for a long time now and it has worked out.

Mr. Bond,
If you are coming to Canada for Career growth then you are mistaken........First of all make up your mind........
If you are looking for the lifestyle and comforts of the Western World then you are through......
Since you have experience and subject knowledge, survive 3 years in Canada and get Canadian passport.............then the whole world is open for you.......
You will then start counting how much is $ 100k

Remember this, my friend. Everytime you mention success in Canada, there's people waiting to jump on you. You can only wonder about their intentions, but they'll let you know you're stepping on something right away.

Hi All,
I am an IT Pro. having around 4 yrs of exp. in the field of C/C++, Windows device drivers, Windows systems programming, Java, J2EE and Enterprise application development, SQL, DB2. I am considering canadian immigration but before i make up my mind i want to have CD users view on it. What is the outlook of Canadian IT industry in the year 2007 any idea? Moreover I have worked with international clients based out of the US, Canada and UK and have worked in the UK for five months for a UK based client and by the time I land there, I might have worked for few more clients at onsite. So does Canadian industry recognize this experience? I am ready to switch my field but then, is it possible to get a high end job? I don't see any problem for myself as far as work ethos and behaviours are concerned as we are trained for how to deal with international customers and moreover I am doing that since the beginning of my career and will be doing that till i land up there? Any valuable suggestions from desi IT pros having settled there already would be of gr8 help.
Cheers,
Bond.........James Bond.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Dear All,
How SAP is doing in Canada..I believe Functional Consultant are in demand...or I am wrong
So many people we have from IT Industry to discuss issues. But I guess no desi's from Manufacturing Industry come up to discuss issues.Even after so many posts ,I am not able to decide if immigration for Manufacturing engineers is worth or not???I trust there are very few mfg.engineers in canada???from auto parts manufacturing.I shall appreciate those who give me clear picture of this industry in canada..
