Dear Masoodjee,
I am a Canadian PR Card holder from past 2 .5 years .
I got married legally to a US Green Card holder in Calgary, six months back.
I have not changed my last name or disclosed anywhere that I am married to him, as that would have created problems in visiting USA.
My question, since I have not legally changed my last name or reported the Candain Immigration that I am now legally married, will this create any problem in re-ntering problems, or even re-entering CANADA.
Please suggest. I am in USA right now, and coming back to Calgary next week.
Thanks.
- You are not required to change your name after marriage in Canada.
- There is no requirement to advise authorities of your marriage. You are free to do whatever you want as long as it is legal.
NEVER LIE TO IMMIGRATION ABOUT WHY YOU WENT TO USA.

ok I understand this part now.
But, I messed it up already.
While I was coming to USA, the immigration guy asked me whether I was married or not, and I said NO. I lied. cause I was scared they would stop me, and I had to meat my husband in USA.
Now, I am in USA coming to Canada . What happens now?
Do you think that the US immigration is gonna ask me again ?
And if they do, and I tell them the truth do you think they have it on record somewhere that earlier I told them that I am not married and now I am saying I am?????
Please help me.
they may not have recorded your answer. in any case, they are less likely to interrogate you while leaving usa.
relax.

Thank you so much.
I appreciate reply.,

If you are using the land route- bridge or tunnel, then u wont be stopped at US immigration. Only canadian immigration will see your papers.
I am from windsor and go to detroit a lot. They never stop anyone to ask questions at US immigration while coming back.
