Already you have laws which prescribe the punishment when convicted. For dual citizens, it is the extra punishment meted out by revoking their Canadian citizenship by a minister in the government.
What if other countries started doing the same? Let us reverse the case above. Let us say a Jordan/Canadian dual citizen commits terrorist activity in Jordan. After his sentencing is over, their government strips the person of their Jordanian citizenship and sends them to Canada. Is Canada going to welcome this person with open arms?

Well, RajCanada,
It has to and it will.
The country will accept its citizens, no matter what the crime is.
My point was, this is just a minor thing. This Bill C24. I know that it makes the immigrants very insecure and that is why this public outcry. There are far more important things than this (as I have detailed it out at the top post).

It is just another way of deterrent – if you are involved and convicted in a serious crime in Canada, your Canadian citizenship may be in trouble.

I think this new law is good. Wait a minute, I meant really GOOD! You won't be deemed a second class citizen....
IF you do NOT bear arms against Humanity,
IF you DON'T try to blow us up,
IF you remain a law abiding citizen.
Don't lie to get in, don't join a terrorist group. Not too hard to understand. So what is wrong with that? I really think this law is really GOOD...
It is about time that the government is taking strides to strengthen immigration laws that have been too lax in previous years. So many terrorist cells start here in Canada because our immigration department stinks. More countries should be like Australia. These are our laws. If you don't like them don't come and expect us to change our laws and beliefs just for you.

Fido.
OK, lets differentiate between immigration and citizenship. Make immigration as hard as you want - but once someone meets all the criteria for citizenship and after the person takes the oath, you cannot discriminate - full stop. There should not be any conditions.
I am surprised some of us don't realize the far reaching implication of such a unconstitutional law.
The actions you are promoting above are called 'street justice' which may/may not be fair to all. The constitution and the law should not be applied selectively based on 1 person's (especially a politician's) judgement. Do you really want to wait until you are at the receiving end of an unfair law?
We discussed somewhere that one of the causes of unrest all over are the impatience of citizens - everyone wants swift laws and justice without thinking it through. C24 has been enacted more out of rage and emotions than rational reasoning.
The laws should be strict - 100%, they should be implemented without discrimination - 100% but they should be constitutional - 100%. Because your neighbor arrived here from Timbuktu (fictional country without dual citizenship with CAN), it should not mean that he is a more permanent citizen than you are.
