I have seen the ads in Toronto Sun and Star where they give ad like "earn $700-1000 in a week in courier delivery business if you have own car/van".
Has this been hyped up or is it for real ?

hi,
my friend was doing this job and he told me: You have to drive a lot and meet time deadlines on the hour. Some packages bring 2$ profit whereas others bring upto 200 per package. The 200 $ package deliveries were usually three to four times a month. You also have to remeber that you will be putting a lot of mileage on your car / van.
He also said that people who own a "cube truck" (I really do not know what that is; perhaps a truck with a huge back space to load fridges and bulky items in one go) can get contracts with several stores like Sears etc. and they can make more money (50-70k). Also you need another guy with you as loading and unloading will be your responsibilty. These people also help peole in moving during weekends.
Thats all what I know.
If you are a hardworker, such self employed businessess can bring you a lot of money, at least much more than factory jobs.

I do not think anybody would go for delivering or picking up one package at a time at profit of $2. They must be clubbing packages like 5-10 together to/from one area or it would not even cover fuel costs.
