I want to buy Toyota Camry 2007-2009 model. I dont have any mechanic who can go there and check the car. Some dealer they do not allow their vehicle to go out.
some dealer gives warranty 30 days with car , some give 12 months free and some gives 3 years warranty free. Some dealer do not give any warranty.
I am confused where to buy car from dealer or private . Kindly suggest me.
I have a kind of mix experience in buying car privately and from dealer. I bought 2010 Honda odyssey from Honda dealership ( No.7 Honda) and 3 month later paint started chipping out and dealership raised their hands. If you want to buy a Toyota you can take a risk of buying privately as a vehicle itself are made good. But check vehicles history on CarFax etc.

It really depends.
Prior to the HST kicking in, you would have paid 7% taxes if bought privately and 13 % if bought throgh a dealer and the dealer also puts a markup to the price and he will deal with mostly 4 or 5 year old cars. Also dealers will go to auction to buy many cars, repair it and sell it.
Both private and dealer selling will involve safety certificate which will be done by a qualified mechanic and hence they will rectify many faults.
I have always bought my cars privately and I will tell you how :
Go to Kijiji site / auto cars site and choose cars you want. Write a cut and paste statement, stating that you will pay 50% of the advertized price. Many will reply with bad words, racist comments etc but just brush them aside. There will be 2 or 3 genuine cases, who will need to sell and they will come to you. Inspect the car and take them to YOUR safety mechanic. Let him inspect the car. You pay around $ 200. and if your mechanic says OK., seal the deal. Note that the seller has to produce a safety certificate. Safety certificate means that the car is 95 % OK. Again do all your Carfax, lemon test etc..
I once bought a car for $ 3600 (Toyota corolla) and drove it for a year and sold it for $ 3800 this way. But (let CD's be happy), I spend $ 800 to remove a dent that I made in a vietnamese shop (Cash).
