I need to send a doument (A4 size) to India urgently and was wondering if there is any service that would deliver it fast for a reasonable charge

If it is only documents then try Registered mail. It is cheaper than speed post or courier and faster than ordinary mail. I did the same thing twice and reached to India in 4-5 business days
