spouse application
Hi,
I am Permanent Resident of Canada and have a PR card. I have been employed from part 2 years and presently working as a Technical Analyst.
I am getting married next week , and my spouse lives in California USA.
My question are :-
1. How long does it take from the spouse application to be processed , for him to get the PR card of canada ?
2. Is it necessary for me to reside in Canada while the application is in process ?
Can I not go and live with him in California, and when his PR card comes, we can come back together ?
3. If after applying for the spouse application, I quit my job will he still get his PR card or what ?
Please advice.

1. approx. 8 weeks
2. you have to be residing in Canada when you apply. You may join him after applying for a long vacation.
3. yes but may become an issue if the embassy suddenly decides to check whether you are residing. Very little chance that it may happen, but I have to give you the whole picture.

Thanks Masood.
In regard with the last reply , can I not tell the Embassy, that I have quit my job and looking for another one.
Even if I dont go to LA, and stay in Calgary for a period of time until his application gets approved , I still want to have another job. I am not very happy with my current job.
Please please advice.
Thanks.

Also Massodjee.
Can you tell me that after we get court marriage done here in Calgary, will I have any problem in entering the USA . Is there anyways that they would come to know that I am married to him, and I have sponsored.
Does my PR card gets all these entries ?
I do have a 5 year multiple visa, and have visted USA 2-3 times.
thanks

you are free to change jobs. should not have implication on your spouse's sponsorship
I am not familair with US immigration laws. All I know is you should not lie to them [or anyone].
