Nobody is against Islam. There is NO muslim Bashing here. I'm an Indian and I'm proud of it. If you are from India(if you are from Pakistan you'll not understand it) you'll understand that India is a Republic, Democracy, Secular and the FASTEST GROWING DEMOCRATIC country in the world.

We were revered as a great nation 5000 years ago. Countries came in search of India for doing trade with us. We sent all the worlds spices, silk and built the boats for the world.

You are here in Canada because of Indians. The european sailors went looking for India and landed here and saw the native americans and called them Indians.

Islam is a great religion. Quran is a Wonderful religious text. Any person who reads the Quran and practises the Quran WILL NOT hate his neighbour. In south India outside the Sabarimala Temple there is a practise still now that is the Hindu pilgrims who go to this temple go and get the holy ash from a Islamic Durgah and get the blessing of the Maulvi before going to the Hindu temple.

India's ex President Abdul Kalam is a good muslim, listens to carnatic music and appreciates literature and is a good Indian. He was the father of Indian defence research to lead India to launch all the missiles developed indigenously to defend India.

Oscar winner, Grammy winner and prodigy musician AR Rahman is a muslim but composes music for Indian cinema and has done India proud. He is the one who brought back the music of Vandematram back to limelight.

The music trio of My Name is Khan is Shankar - Eeshann - Loy are Hindu, Muslim and Christian. They are doing India proud by their musical composition.

See the Credits for the makers of this movie. Most of the guys on the movie are all Hindus.A whole bunch of Hindus defending the name of Khan in America. The guy who wrote the songs is a Tamil Brahmin called Niranjan IYENGAR, the music as stated before is by another Tamil Brahmin Shankar Mahadeven IYER.

This movie talks about how muslims are being treated in post 9/11 world. After I saw this movie on internet, I think it is a decent watch on the net and I will not spend money in a theater.

Look at your Bollywood:

Shahrukh Khan(Muslim): Gauri Khan(Hindu)
Saif Ali Khan(Muslim): Kareena Kapoor( Hindu)
Amir Khan(Muslim): Ms.Rao(Hindu)
Hrithik Roshan(Hindu): Suzanne Khan(Muslim)

The list goes on and on. Nobody disputed the Hindu-Muslim-Christian relationship. India has been this open democracy and political correct name is Hindustan for thousands of years. St.Thomas one of the key followers of Jesus reached Chennai, Tamilnadu, India in 50 AD and died in the Chennai. Christianity reached India even before many a white people have learnt about this religion.

India(Hindustan) has always been open to all the people coming to it for refuge. If you would know Zorastrian(Parsi) which was and is still persecuted in Iran left that country and landed in Gujarat. The gujaratis accepted them and only requested them to Indian dressing and speaking Gujarati. The hindus never forced them to adopt Hinduism. Who are these parsis ?, they are the richest community running Indian economy and for example: The TATA group.

India's sucessful software company WIPRO is owned by Premji and he is a muslim and all his key officials are hindus and christians.In regards to the contribution of India in terms of Mathematics(as you refer to it) can be found in the BBC story of :Story of Mathematics\\\" periodically shown on our own TVO.The Hindu-Arabic numbers is the discovery of India and refined by the Arabs and now is used by you, me and every person in this wide world. The discoveries in relation to astronomy by Indians is all well known.

The country of Pakistan did not exist a sixety years ago. The religion of Islam did not exist 1500 years ago, the religion of Christianity did not exist 2010 years ago. Hinduism existed even before then, the religious texts of Hinduism have existed thousands of years ago before than Jesus. There is a famous tamil book called Thirukural which was written in the time of Jesus Christ. This has talked about every possible stuff that any religion can talk about.

Now coming to the point, what I would like you to understand is that, as time evolves everything around it evolves. Eventhough the concept of right/wrong evolves around the society at that time, there are some basic truth which remains constant through out time.

For Example: A stripper pole was an stuff which existed in seedy night clubs and strip clubs. People sneaked into this stuff and were entertained by so called seedy women.

In 2010, stripper pole is in all Bollywood/Holly wood music/movie scene. Atleast in the West, women go to special schools to learn to strip and to use the stripper pole. There are classes advertized and clips are shown on TV how many a ladies are learning this method.

What was wrong 50 years ago is acceptable now and it might be a norm later in time. May be my grand daughter in Canada might have a choice of a course called \\\"Stripping/Stripper 101\\\" in her high school class, in another 20 years.

In 1930's blacks and brown could not travel on the same bus as the whites in this country. You could not be served in the same restaurant as whites. What has happened in 2010 ?. You know the answer.

In India the Dalits(SC/ST) were treated badly without equal opportunity by the Manu Dharma and now they have progressed to be the chief ministers of the same country, President of the same country and also in all the fields.

If you know history Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Wazir-E-Alam of Pakistan died heartbroken as he found that the Secular country he wanted turned into an Islamic republic.He has stated that he did not fight for this all his life.

I've learnt from my Pakistani friends that there are places in the Waziristan area where a lady's skin has never seen sunlight. Even his husband rarely sees their wife(s) face as they are always under the Burkah and in the dark.

As we realize that as time flies, concepts evolve and equal opportunity, merit and justice for all is what society drive towards.

What is happening in some places in terms of Islam ?.

India had a beautiful concept of Sufi-Islam, which was also that in Pakistan. Women of Islam covered their head, while they went about as equals with men.

With the entry of Wahabi Islam exported by Saudi Arabia, we find women forced to cover their whole body with Purdah. I have posted a link here (it is in Tamil) where a young boy in Chennai challenges a girl about the dress code. Here his attitude is condescending and also outrageous. When the girl asks him about here freedom as promised in Quran, he replies that she can wear any dress she wants as long as it is under her Purdah.

I know I cannot take one example and stretch it across the spectrum. But this is overall perception of a common man about Muslims in the West.

Isn't like Henry Ford saying you can have any color of the car you want as long it is black?.

If you have a daughter would you like to have a husband like this guy?. Please think to yourself. In Mississauga when Tarek Fatah the President of Canadian Muslim Congress wanted the Government of Canada to ban the Burkah, the mosques wanted him to be stopped and punished.

Why did you or any of the Desi - Muslim contributors on this website or in any website protest this?. Why did any of you young moderate muslims go out and protest outside these mosques in Mississauga against this concept of Freedom Of Speech - but the only problem is that is it is ONE WAY- Monologue and NO Dialogue.

If you know the history of Canada eventhough there were fewer muslims a few years ago they never took a separate identity of their own.

Who is the President of Rogers after the death of the owner TED ROGERs?.

Now more and more girls are being forced to cover their head and the persons who protest are being killed in Canada. Why this happening?.

Is Islam(wider perception) progressing with time in 2010 or regressing back to 500 AD ?.

Indian Hindu Women never covered their hair. We took up that practise after the entry of the Mughals.

If you are secular then why there are two sets of laws under Indian constitution?. Isn't it there is one man for one woman?.

If Vandematram is the real national anthem of India, why many a muslims are unwilling to sing it?. The reason being that it says that bow to the national flag of India, and the reason being we will not bow to anything other than our religious symbols.

As I've stated before AR Rahman composed the new music for this old song.

In Hinduism(NOT religion, BUT way of LIFE) it is Mata-Pita-Guru- Deivam. The god comes last in this list. For many a hindus the country which could be India, Canada, USA or Saudi Arabia inserted between Mata-Pita-Guru-Country-Deivam.

Every time SRK or Salman Khan finish their speech in India they always say Inshallah. We also accept it as Allah is God and NOT a Muslim God/Hindu God/Christian God. Could it be practical for them to say namaste or Thank You in a secular country?.

Why is it not so practical for us to accept that?.

The reason being you need to be the solution and not the problem.

The reason being in Switzerland there is already a ban on building Minar. In France they have denied a person Citizenship. In Germany they are pondering over banning the Burkah. In USA there is a lot of increased racial profiling, no fly list and also secondary inspections if you have a muslim name.

Have you ever heard of any country delisting, profiling a hindu, banning a temple construction or have you ever heard of Hindu Terrorist or a bomber or a suicide bomber?.

We love Muslims, we respect Islam & the Quran but NOT new emerging Wahabi Islam away from Sufi Islam.

Let us have a healthy debate and not mud slinging. I strongly suggest that you should ask your wife, your daughter or your sister to read this thread and respond to it.

Agreed on all counts. But, you might as well be talking to a wall (in case of Icecube)

To explain this strange behavior of Pakistan (or Islam for that matter). One has to understand the story of the Frog and the scorpion.

One day the scorpion requests the frog to help him cross the river as he cannot swim.
The frog replies "I am sorry, I cannot do that. What if you bite me in the middle of the river".
Scorpion says "My dear friend, what are you saying? If I do that, then both of us will drown".
The frog thinks it logical and takes the scorpion on its back and starts swimming. All of a sudden he feels a painful sting in his neck. In his last few dying moment he asks "But why?"
The scorpion calmly replies "Sorry, I didn’t mean to. But what can I do? It’s in my nature to bite!”
Both of them drowned in the end.
