Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) are the way of the future for medical imaging departments and the medical enterprise as a whole. PACS serve as secure databases for medical images, improving the efficiency of imaging departments by allowing medical information to be stored, recalled, displayed, manipulated and printed digitally.

It is basically an IT job, the person must have some clinical knowledge besides IT knowledge.
