My brother is doing postdog in USA. he wants to visit us, for that he needs a vising visa. we r asking him to get the work permit instead of TN visa. but we don't have any knowledge abt the process. can any one help.
how r job opportunities in research side. he did PHD in India, now he is doing postdog in USA.

First, it's "postdoc", not "postdog". Second, if your brother is visiting, why does he need a work permit or TN? Third, TN is a work authorization available only for US/Cdn/Mexican citizens.

sorry that was a spelling mistake. I know it is Postdoctoral ("post-doc") not postdog.
I mentioned in my query that we want to get a work permit for him. how do we proceed? can he apply by himself or does he need to go through consultancy to process his work permit?
secondly, if he apply for vising visa is it compulsory to have a invitation letter from us, as I already mentioned he is on J1 Visa?

For a work permit, he needs an offer of employment from an employer. That's the starting point. In other words, you brother could send resumes, attend interviews if called and secure a job and hopefully the employer would be willing to pursue a work permit.
For a visit, an invitation would greatly help since he is on a non-immigrant status in the US. They will ask for his proof of status (examples - stamped visa, valid I-94, record of activities related to J1, etc)
