Hello All,

I would be shifting my home stuff from Dubai to Toronto Port somewhere around mid June and would like to see advice from CD's.

Who would be a good reputable Local mover (Toronto Port-Mississauga) after going through these comments I am a bit apprehensive.

The international part (Dubai-Toronto) has been taken care of already.

Thanks for your advice.

Ajay

we had deal with them so far, and regret later...
Don't want to go in detail.

but '.', never want to use service from them..its very hard to trust.

ofcourse, not all ppl are same..& I am pure desi, I feel shame to write this..but this is fact, that we had bad experience.

You have read the mind of desi people in Canada

How about living in desi's house as PG or renting apartment of desi
Shopping from desi shops
employee of desi / desi company
partnership with desi in business
establishing friendship with a desi
dating desi
sharing accomoation with desi
there is desi uncle ( Uncle P) there in toronto who says new desi are welcome to stay in his accomodation and he cares a lot.
desi guest house
desi neighbour

This will help.

My advice would be be precise and firm and tell them the no. of items and whether you need big/small vehicle and be firm about your budget. when I moved from northyork to etobicoke with 6 big bags and five medium boxes and 2-3 blankets. we asked around and we fixed with a guy who said $200 and he was very good to help us with lifting heavy baggages we paid him $50 as tip.

I tried 'Igor' on this weekend and had a nightmare . I wish I had taken the lesson from this posting . He is exactly same or worse than what Fido mentioned .
Even though I paid him 50 bucks more than agreed , still he kept grumbling ( worse of all I understand his native language ) . He was not careful at all with any of the stuff . Promised 30 ft truck and showed up with 18 ft . Agreed for two rounds and work till 5 if required . After the first round denied another round even though he was done at 1:00 . Dumped everything in garage instead of taking stuff to respective rooms .
Beware of this "mover".

If its a simple job from place A to B he is okay . Did nt break anything , loaded everyhing , unloaded everything , charged 50/hr + $50 for gas. Kept on grumbling . Could have provided the service with a smile . Did get a helper who was pretty fresh . I would rate him 4/10 . Did the job but I would not hire him again .

I have had better experience with Shawn (NFA Moving) at 647-347-1331 . At 60/hr , the guy is a professional , does his job with a smile and has an equally good helper . Proper communication as well as peace of mind .

I could not reach Alex day before yday (he also quoted 50/hr..worth a try ) but Viggy has recommended him . So we have 3 movers recommended tried and tested by CDS . Guys --post in your experience also .

Hi there I experienced the same problem with the desi guys i saw there add in canadian desi and called them they told me 60 dollars per hour ,two guys BEWARE THEIR ADD IS ON CANADIAN DESI. They wasted so much time chatting ,drinking coke etc .Before they started they asked for 300 dollars and When i told them you never said anything about it they said that is the law etc.So moral of the story you should never give jobs you desis they always rip you without working.
