Frendbend, if your brother's way of thinking is anything like yours, I think he might need to go with a lawyer. The process might be too complex for him.

Same applies for car driving too... Then why do we all have an instructor ??

I know what you mean but I think you should start using your common sense for careful choice of words ..

Well try this. Ask your brother to read up the material posted on http://www.cic.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK if he has not already done so. Doing some homework by himself is a great way of learning things.

CIC has done a great job making it easy for an individual to apply without legal assistance. If your brother still feels that it is too complicated, then, sure he can spend $2000 to $4000 for a lawyer. From my experience of using a lawyer, all they did was communicate very promptly and compiled everything I gave them into a beautiful package, that's it. Subsequently, I learned that I am capable of putting together a nice package as well.

Lawyers don't have the magic powers to influence CIC.

Actually the law DOES allow you to learn driving on your own - at least here in Ontario. Instructors are optional.

Do you have a link to the official source? Otherwise it is tough to belive that they would allow you to drive (read "learn driving on your own" ) without a licence.

Fendbend

What the yellowknife was saying is 100% true. If u already know the answer to ur question then u should never ask the question.

I think u deserve a lawyer..

Is it possible that what Big Vee meant is I, a G driver, can teach someone to drive by driving around on my sprawling 30 acre private property (;) ) and that someone can then take the test and get the licence? And I am not a driving instructor, just a great buddy letting my car to be trashed by a new learner :)
