Hi,
I work in Detroit on H1B visa and I landed in Winsor as immigrant with my wife on 15th march 2003. After getting PR Card, SIN Card we came back to USA as my wife was pregnant that time, which we did not declared while landing in Canada.
I read on the CIC site that Canadian Landed Immigrant can stay out of country for three years in any five years. But some of my friend told me that we cannot stay out of Canada for more than six months at a time. So my questions are:
1. As we stayed out of Canada for approximately one year; so can we loose our status in this situation?
2. If I move to Canada in next few months with my twin babies (which are American) what problems I may face?
Please suggest me with your sincere knowledge and advice me accordingly.
Thank,
AK
1. no. your friends are wrong.
2. no problems. You'll have to sponsor your babies. they'll be allowed into Canada with their US passports as visitors accompanying you & your wife.
