hi dear dont worry abt the diabetic, its just temporary - just eat properly as per the dietician advice - i was diabetic before pregnancy and just delivered on 08th april, a cute healthy baby boy (5.10 pound) and my sugar level is around 5.8 after dinner (after delivery)- even i was diabetic my baby is not huge, comparing to diabetic patient - test ur sugar regularly and eat well, do some light exercise.
Hi
I can empathise with all the ladies who have gest diabeties. As I have been through it & not once but twice. During both my pregnancies. During my 1st I was really worried & frustrated & stressed but during the 2nd I was a little more confident. The most important thing is u should not get stressed out. U should be relaxed & calm as stress also triggers sugar levels, especially when u are testing u should not be tensed. And after every meal u should do a little walking as that will help lower ur levels. And u should stick to wheat bread, rotis, salads & crackers & lots of vegetables. Chicken is the best. And yes u can eat salmon & talapia. And egss are the best also. Basically u need to eat a lot of protien. U can eat sandwiches with nice green chutney & cucumbers, lettuce, tomato & u can add red, green. yellow peppers (capsicum) it helps enhance the taste.
U should mix & match ur meals & check the affect of the glucose level till u get the right match. And do not worry if once in a while the level is high try ur best to control it. And eat every 2 hrs thats the goal instead of eating 2 big meals which shoot up ur sugar levels divide & eat something every 2 hrs to manage & maintain sugar levels.
So do not stress & all the best. U have more questions I would love to help
Take care & all the best.

hi i would have some advice and suggestions
since i have gone thru this and did lot of research and also received lot of
help from this forum members,be positve and also if u have to take insulin
it does not affect the child in anyways, regards to your diet
mornings i have bodywise bread which u get from highland farms which has
only 7 carbs as compared to 18 in regular bread have it with margarine and if you eat eggs have them
u can also vary have plain dosa and have tea (without sugar),have beaten rice(pohe),
watch ur carb intake that is very important, for lunch if rice doesnt increase ur
sugar level it is safe to eat else subsitute with whole wheat tortilla , a big one
has around 27 carbs ,eat with variety of vegetables like
zuchini, peppers, paneer, palak, and whatever colour vegetable you like
have lots of green salads and also drink around 8 glasses of water
for dinner have some soup or watery dal and rice or roti or dosa with veges
remember to include protein in your diet which is paneer ,chicken ,dal ,egg
dont starve yourself ,have snacks at 2-3 hours interval like cheese and
crackers,cucumbers,carrots,milk, one fruit .
it takes a little time to understand the diet given to you by the dietician
but once u know which veg helps you maintain ur sugar u can stick to it for a
while ,eat variety and eat in regular intervals but small portions so that u dont
feel hungry.this is only for a short while and for the betterment of baby and
mother
hope this helps .
