I get it: To disagree with you is to be a bigot and member of the KKK.
Actually, all we're saying is that Europeans are the founder/settler people of this country. Present immigration policies will swamp and replace us by 2050. We have a right to maintain our plce in this, our land.
Your comments about the Aboriginals being the only true Canadians are
nonsense. Check out Kennewick Man. Europeans were here at the same time the ancestors of today's Aboriginals arrrived here.

On the contrary, Lobster Bhai, I posted this article because I think Desis coming from places other than US should be made aware that the sad reality of racism still exists. I'm glad it is not so visible in Canada cuz here in the US, it sure sucks.

I can assure you that you will not even find 1/10th of the racism you find in the U.S. here in Canada (ok, I'm not talking about corporate promotions or professional discrimination here, that's a highly subjective matter and difficult to assess. I'm talking about everyday racism you experience in a mall or at a movie theater or at a restaurant.)
While I was in the U.S., every other day there was some incident or the other that would really tick me off and no matter where I was, I was always conscious of my skin color and my "place" in the American society. Not that I took it sitting down, but that's a different matter.
In my almost-4 years in Canada, I have NEVER and I repeat NEVER experienced that kind of racism. And I know a lot of people who've either lived in or been to the U.S. who feel the same way.
Now as for bigots, every country has their share. We have enough in India, don't we? The mumbaikars feel that there are too many non-mumbaikars coming to Mumbai. Even in Gujarat (where I'm from), I was surprised to hear the number of people who feel there are too many people coming from the East (Bihar, Orissa) and settling down in Baroda, Ahmedabad. And that something should be done about that . I tried to argue that they're Indians too but to no avail...
And to be honest, the response from this guy seems rather civil, should I say? He's at least trying to reason his way, however ridiculous his arguments may be. Try sending an email to the Aryan brotherhood in the U.S. and see what kind of response you get ....
