I will check that but what could be the reason behind the hard drive being overheated. Could it be a virus that would have killed the hard drive or created some bad sectors in hard drive. I dont have another machine to check this may be i would buy another hard drive and check it.
Also, i forgot to mention earlier i had this stupid problem since almost 3 weeks now. Couple of days before i tried to boot up the computer started for a while everything was fine and then the display on the monitor was gone after the computer ran for about 2-3 hours. This kind of thing happend thrice in this 3 weeks so much so that i questioned the wireing in my appartment suite but the funny thing is all other electronic stuff works my televsion, modem, Stallitte receiver everything get the power from same plug. I also bought a surge protector from home depot and was very happy that the computer was running okey after i connected it through the surge protector but it went for a day like this and it was gone again.
For wireless connection , you need a wireless router and you can statically/manually assign the IP address of the routers interface with which your computer is connected to the default gateway of your computer or you can simply put a check on "automatically obtain IP address " and "automatically obtain DNS Server settings" in the TCP/IP properties of your computer.
Please make sure that your wireless NIC card is properly inserted into your computer.
Their are many routers like Syslink,IP3 ,Nomadix and etc.
