You have to show them you have bank account in canada, and you have worked in canada before leaving and so on.. I told you they sent me a form to fill aout with a list of questions. It took them about a month to decide but they were paying even though we filed our tax using US address as our permanent address we dont have any family here in canada. and showing no inocme in canada.
I think it also depends on the person who is handling your file. Some are good than others. ....

You are correct - it depends on the person who is handling your case. You seem to be lucky. I was working and living in Canada and I have always paid my taxes. Still I had this experience. Oh well...
Do you mind sharing what form you had to fill, i.e. the form number?
