Friends,

Wanted to find if there is a good New Year's Party in Mississauga. Our requirement is

1. A decent place where the entire family can enjoy.

2. The place should have good desi music, dance floor and dinner included.

We kinda cocooned at a friend's home with plenny of others and danced all night long to all kinds of music including hip-hop, disco and Bollywood.

Good vibes. Good desi food plus desi chinese plus some desi italian- sort of like a dish party(or pot-luck as they say here) and good grog.
Other years we have gone out only to be disappointed due heavy congestion, lousy food, too much bhangra music et al.

The day before we went to a Lebanese joint and took our own booze, being charged a corkage. No dancing, but good food. People brought along home made chili sauce and green chilies to spice up the food. The kibbe, felafel, hummus, pita bread, tahini, shish taouk, kebabs et al were all damn good but better with our chili sauces. Home-style ambiance and we had a real blast.

Whatcha CDs think of Lebanese food?

Looking forward to the Epiphany and the party the 3 kings bring along. Maybe I might win the 6/49 too.

Please tell me more about this Lebanese joint. My wife and I love to try new cuisines and are constantly looking for variety.

The Leb rest we went to is at 3050 Confederation Parkway in Mississauga. Tel no is 905-949-0222. The name is Tarboosh.

Small cosy place. The food is good and like most middle eastern food with good spices but no chilies.

Thanks a stack. Much appreciated. I think I know what you mean. I had sort of similar food at an Afghan restaurant in Fremont, California when I was there last August.

While on the topic, Montreal has a ton of Iraqi restaurants and other ethnic places....way more than GTA.
