As far as Pingo.com is concerned, it is an unreliable service. Many a times you get the message "due to technical difficulties, we are unable to route your call. This is a recording." When you call their call center, you get the message "all our representatives are currently busy....."

It is 10 cents a minute (there is only toll free number from Canada which has surcharge of 1 cent, tax is not mentioned, monthly fee of US$1.99). Voice quality is okay but many a time did not connect for me to a phone number in TN, India. Same number connected through Reliance.

Anyway asked for a refund from Pingo, which they will be processing.

Sears is only for Home Phone. Also there is no Contract but you shpould have a Sears Card for getting this service. Also, it is a Good idea to put a LONG DISTANCE BLOCK on your BELL/ROGR HOME phone so that you may not get charged if Sears do not pick up the Call. ( it is a Direct Dialling).

If you put a long distance block on your Home Phone like BELL, you can not use Sears as all long distance will be Blocked. It is a direct dialling.I stands corrected on my previous mail.

I agree with desi_driller .You need to unblock your long distance call if u have been using Bell for your basic service.
I actually had the same problem when I took sears connect long distance service and I couldn't use first couple of days because I earlier put a request to put a block on my Bell line.
So far I am happy with Sears connect and the way Bell and Sears technical support guy explained me I don't believe that there will be any risk of long distance charged by Bell as Searsconnect use same Bell's hardware and any long distance call Bell will route to Sears connect by default.

In case of any doubt, dial 1-700-555-4141 to check who is your long distance company. Sometimes, if you ask for any change in service from your local home phone comapny (particularly, if moving to different location), your home phone company pick-up your long distance.

TK A
Mr. TK, thanks for your information and for time being I am using some Global link they offered me 10 cents per minute to any where in India and same rate applies to cell phone also. They give three phones options. You can make call from thre alternative phones like Hime, cell and office lines.

I purcahsed like 560 minutes for $55 and using since 3 months. I have 100 minutes in my credit which I can use it for 2 more months. Amost till end of 2006.

Best
