Need advise to sponsor my wife.Regarding Tax returns

HI i am in Canada permanently as PR. Now i would like to sponser my wife who is in India.I just landed on march 20th and filed tax for 2005(i was landed for one day in 2005 as PR)to inland revenue.
It seems it takes some 2 months to get reply from inland revenue.Till that i cannot file for my wife?.Except this tax papers,i have all the other documents are ready.
Can any one guide me what to do now?.

I would suggest you check the required documentation list again. You Probably dont need the tax returns papers. When i sponsored my wife in June2005, i had landed the same yr just 3 months before and i had not filed for any tax returns. For sponsoring your wife there is no minimum income requirement.

HI thank u for ur reply.But i landed in canada in nov 2005 and left to India.I just came back permanently to canada.So i have to file tax for 2005.
Only this i know.
Please i need more advises.

True you have to file taxes for 2005, but as Mishtar India pointed out there is no connection between filing taxes and sponsoring your wife.

HI you have to submit that you have returned the taxes for last year ,before u file for spouse for PR.

I dont think so... and unless the documentation requirements have changed from 2004, you do not need to include the tax returns while filing for your spouse's immigration.

If the forms ask for it specifically then it is something new which I did not know of.....but as far as I know there is no such requirement.

I just went through the application.now they are asking for tax returns for previous year. Onemore thing is howlong it takes to sponser the wife from India.She did her medicals 1 month ago.But i have not filed application here.I am just waiting for tax returns and to join some job before filing for her.Once if i file,howlong it takes?
