I went thro' the link & found this below :-

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RECRUITMENT: Representatives from private and public sector employers will be seeking qualified workers who have some work or educational experience in Canada.

EDUCATION INFORMATION: Educational institutions will offer information about training programs, educational courses, programs designed to update credentials and on co-op programs that have been designed to help people obtain Canadian work experience.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shows that they are only willing to recruit people having some work or educational experience in Canada.

It is a good thing however & people looking for work or career advancement should definitely take advantage & drop off their resumes. You never know !!

Rgds.

It may be interesting to ask the employers present at the job fair whether theywould consider hiring someone with overseas experience and what qualities they believe one would gain by obtaining 'canadian experience'.

I think that this question should be directed at your local MP's and MPP's and not at employers.
Employers will laugh the question off or suggest a non true statement for the fear of being branded as racial.
And why should you ask the employers when we know it ourselves.

MP's are the ones who are going to answer the question "politically"
Employers can be surprised (because they may not anticipate the question) and their answers may give you insight.

We dont know it ourselves..we assume we do. The more ppl u speak to i believe..the better.

I have never been to a job fair. But shall definitely go for this one.

Anybody with an experience of attending a job fair? Are interviews conducted or one just gets a chance to submit a resume?

I got my first job at a job fair.

At the job fair, i met the hiring manager and she interviewed me briefly. She told me that i was almost hired but should meet her in her office to discuss contracts and other stuff. Salary was discussed at the job fair too.

Next day I contacted her and fixed the meeting after two days when she gave me my job offer letter.

Though it depends on each employer and their HR procedures. Some may just collect resumes. If the position is to be filled quickly, they may even interview on the spot.
